Alexa Avilés believes leadership should begin at home, grounded in family, community, and shared solidarity.
Alexa is a proud Boricua, education activist, and mother. She grew up in East New York, Brooklyn and has lived in New York City Council District 38’s Sunset Park neighborhood for nearly two decades.
As the next New York City Council Member for District 38, representing Sunset Park, South Slope, Red Hook, and parts of Borough Park, Dyker Heights, and Windsor Terrace, Alexa will fight for well-resourced schools, safe and equitable school remote learning and prioritizing the most at need, quality affordable housing, for our immigrant neighbors, and for climate justice.
